Another day, another several hundred Palestinians killed and wounded in Gaza. Another day where the US continues to block UN Security Council resolution demanding a cease-fire.  Another day where Israel pushes 2M Palestinians into ever shrinking space and then bombs that space.  Another day where starvation and public health crisis engulf the Palestinians in Gaza. Another day where the IDF behaves like Gestapo stormtroopers in the occupied West Bank destroying homes and cultural centers, arresting and torturing hundres of Palestinians for any/no stated reason, bombing neighborhoods, preventing hospitals from treating the injured, and burning farms in Gaza.  


More than 28,000 Palestinians killed – at least 20,000 reported by the Gaza Health Ministry plus several thousands buried under the rubble – with more than 54,000 reported injured. NB: death toll no longer includes new casualties in the north where all hospitals are closed. The dead include 68 journalists, 310 healthcare workers, and 134 UNRWA staff. Numerous doctors have been detained by IDF soldiers, whereabouts unknown.


The incident where 3 Israeli hostages trying to give themselves up to IDF were gunned down only confirms reports by Palestinians that IDF soldiers are shooting at anything that moves and intentionally killing Palestinian civilians. Recent notorious incident, condemned by Pope Paul, involves an elderly woman leaving church/convent for the bathroom, shot by sniper, and when her daughter rushed to help her she was also shot and killed.


Despite these atrocities and war crimes, US support for Israel remains “unshakeable” to quote Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin who grinned his way through a press conference with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant who infamously described the Palestinians as human animals.  The latest revolting statements by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken asserted that the unspeakable situation in Gaza “is all Hamas’ fault and if Hamas would just surrender, then this would all be over.”  Ah yes, the cowardly bully will always cry “you made me do it.”  Jacqueline Rose ‘You made me do it’  www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v45/n23/jacqueline-rose/you-made-me-do-it


Is Biden seeing in an alternative universe such that he determines the US will continue to be publicly complicit in this horrific genocide campaign? Or more likely, as an Israel acolyte, he sees Palestinians as less than human.  Whatever the motive, the stain of complicity and indifference to massive human suffering will mark the US forever.
