On Friday January 26^th the International Court of Justice (ICJ) found evidence for a plausible case that Israel is committing genocidal acts in Gaza, and ordered that Israel show proof within a month that it was reversing course on its indiscriminate targeting of civilians in Gaza and obstruction of humanitarian aid.

ICJ Ruling on Gaza Genocide is a Historic Victory for the Palestinians that Israel vows to Defy. The 17-judge panel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague issued a series of rulings on Friday about Israel’s conduct during its war against Gaza that constitute a significant legal defeat for Israel and its chief defenders, the United States and Germany. It found that there is a basis to proceed with the case against Israel for genocide and that South Africa had solid foundation to bring its case before the world’s highest court. US doubles down on dismissing genocide claim despite ICJ ruling. 

The White House has brushed aside the ICJ ruling that Israel must prevent genocidal acts against Gaza and will continue to double down on its unconditional support for Israel's war in Gaza. A day after ICJ ruling, US and Western allies withdraw funding to UNRWA.

UNRWA (United Nations Relief & Works Agency for Palestinian refugees) employs 30,000 workers across the Middle East, 13,000 in Gaza, and the rest in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and the occupied West Bank.  Israel is now alleging, more than 3 months after 7 October, that 12 UNRWA staff (0.0004%) were involved in the Hamas attack.  US and other Western allies immediately suspend their funding of UNRWA at this moment of catastrophic conditions in Gaza – Israel has yet to provide evidence for these allegations. Yeah, Israel’s allegations are fucking bullshit – a deliberate Fuck-You to the ICJ findings.

Two days after ICJ ruling, Euro-Med Monitor says Israel has maintained its rate of killing in Gaza. 

Forty-eight hours after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered Israel to take action to stop the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor stressed that the Israeli army has maintained its rate of killing civilians. The rights group added that Israel has also ramped up its efforts to starve them as well as forcibly displace them from their homes in the Strip. Euro-Med Monitor reported that the Israeli army has killed over 373 Palestinians—including 345 civilians—and injured over 643 more since the Court’s ruling.
