Western world leaders have apparently not been paying attention to how Israel is conducting its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.  For six months, Israel has waged a genocide of unparalleled savagery and brutality on 2M Palestinians in flagrant and ongoing violations of international law and international humanitarian law. 

“A War Machine Out of Control”: Israel Keeps Attacking Aid Workers as Gaza Faces Famine. Jan Egeland, secretary general of the Norwegian Refugee Council, says Israel’s international backers need to rein in “a war machine out of control” that is causing so much death and destruction. “If you have a conflict where there is a world record in killing protected categories of personnel, then the law is broken to pieces. Israel Kills 6 Int’l Aid Workers & Gazan Driver in Attack on Chef Andrés’s World Central Kitchen Convoy. Journalist Akram al-Satarri, reporting live from Rafah says:

At least 196 humanitarians had been killed in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since October 2023. This is nearly three times the death toll recorded in any single conflict in a year. Every single humanitarian aid worker that is extending a helping hand in Gaza, that is coordinating or helping or distributing food or doing anything, is already recognized by the Israeli army.  Nonetheless, the IDF continues its practice of targeting/murdering these workers, either while they are working or when they are home with their families. 

More than 500 Palestinians were killed in different incidents targeting the people around al-Kuwait Roundabout and al-Nabulsi Roundabout when they’re waiting for the food, when they’re waiting for to eat — 20 different incidents of targeting that took the life of 500 Palestinians and 70 of those who are working to organize everything.  www.democracynow.org/2024/4/2/akram_al_satarri 

Routine IDF practice involves giving permission and coordinates for travel, especially to journalists, aid workers and ambulances, and then still bombing to kill. The most recent example involved a 6-year-old girl trapped in a bombed car with her dead family members. The IDF gave permission for the ambulance rescue and then blew up the ambulance killing two Red Crescent medics a few meters from the car.  IDF intentionally bombs to prevent ambulances from reaching wounded people, especially where journalists are involved. IDF bombs the entrances to hospitals when ambulances carrying the wounded arrive.

The IDF has established “kill/combat zones” with snipers and drones stationed throughout the Gaza strip.  These snipers can shoot anything that moves, whether child getting water, people holding white flags, old people walking to a latrine – no accountability necessary. 

Not a normal war’: doctors say children have been targeted by Israeli snipers in Gaza. While most children die from injuries due to bombs, fire and being trapped under rubble, doctors report an increasing number of children killed with single shots to the head.

The IDF is targeting/murdering Palestinian doctors, nurses, and police officials. The grounds outside of completely destroyed Al Shifa Hospital complex, the largest hospital in Gaza representing 30% of medical care system, are littered with dead people, among them two prominent doctors -- mother and son -- their bodies riddled with bullets as they attempted to walk from the hospital to their home a block away.  The IDF invaded Al Shifa Hospital, filled with thousands of patients and sheltering Palestinians, with automatic weapons, drones and quadcopters killing/murdering indiscriminately.

Shooting multiple rockets at the World Central Kitchen cars is not a tragic accident. As Egeland notes – “this is a war machine out of control.”  Reportedly suspecting, without any evidence, that a Hamas terrorist was riding on one of the WCK cars, IDF launched a sustained attack on the convoy even as the WCK people contacted them.  When you have permission to kill suspected Hamas terrorists at any cost and without accountability, then you will destroy a convoy with several people to kill one terrorist.  Do recall that Israel admitted, without apology or regret, dropping a 2000 lb. bomb on an apartment building in a dense urban neighborhood and causing enormous carnage to kill one Hamas leader. 

Outraged world leaders are demanding accountability for their 6 citizens. Hmmm. Perhaps, due to the western media publishing largely Israeli war propaganda, led by the New York Times, these western world leaders remain/choose to be ignorant about Israel’s genocidal assault on Palestinians in Gaza. Or perhaps these world leaders like Biden --who said he is heartbroken and outraged about the WCK killings but has never said this about more than 15,000 dead Palestinian children – view Palestinians as less than human.

Protected and armed unconditionally by the US, Israel continues to normalize reprehensible and genocidal behaviors illegal under international law and to deride International Court of Justice rulings.  The IDF ‘out of control’ war machine can and will continue to wantonly kill and destroy with zero culpability or accountability.

At this moment, for the more than 75,000 wounded Palestinians, the tens of thousands of Palestinian children maimed, disabled and orphaned, the 1.5M Palestinians whose homes are destroyed and who are displaced and starving, their lives hang in the balance waiting for the US to demand a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of IDF troops from Gaza. Can the Biden administration find a shred of decency and humanity?
