10 Days until the so-called peaceful transfer of power.

“My 82-year-old mother picked cotton for other people. Today she picked her son for the US Senate.”  

Yeah, you couldn’t make up anything more powerful than these words to sum up the significance of Georgia Senator-Elect Raphael Warnock -- meaning measured by the life of black woman who picked cotton for overseers but now sees her son elected to high office.

So, despite the unveiling of domestic terrorism on national TV, we must keep this triumph of movement work in our hearts and minds.  This is the future that we can continue to create.  Stacey Abrams and the largely black and POC women organizers in Georgia showed us exactly how to make this future.  These women are responsible for Democrats taking control of the Senate and for creating an opportunity for the Biden-Harris administration to take bold action, e.g., voting rights legislation!
